10:12pm - What a busy day. First off, Leslie was sick this morning. She said her stomach hurt and felt like she had a fever. She stayed home from work. THat meant I had to get Hailey ready this morning and take her to daycare. That took about an extra hour out of my day I had planned to be doing stuff. Later I had to go retrieve her as well, which took another hour. Anyway, around noon I headed on up to Seth's place of work so that we could take his truck and pick up my order of metal. Well, I was a bit surprised on the sheet metal. I knew what to expect on the square tubes. This stuff is huge, first of all. Second they had it on a palette. I only ordered 4 sheets of the stuff. But it was on this huge 4x10 foot wooden palette. It had a little sign on it that said "257 lbs." They loaded it into Seth's truck with a forklift. Well, we quickly discovered that when we got it home we could not lift it at all. So what we did was cut the straps and take one piece of sheet metal at a time from the truck to the garage. This was no easy task because the stuff was very heavy. It would appear a single sheet was slightly more than 50 pounds each. THe other problem was how to hold it. It wanted to bend when we took it out of the truck bed. So it was quite a task carrying them to the garage. Then the palette itself was quite heavy and I have no idea what I'm going to do with it. Actually, that isn't true. Since it has slats going all the way down I think I can use it for cutting my sheet metal up on the garage floor. I can use the jig saw as long as I make sure the place I am cutting is in between slats. After I'm done with that, I guess I'll have to cut the thing up and put it out for the garbage man. Anyway, currently I can't even park my car in the garage.

In the 3 hours or so I had left in the day I managed to cut all 14 pieces I needed to finish making the two impulse engines that go on the top and side of the rear of the shuttlecraft. I finished welding them together but have not yet attached them to the rest of the craft. Maybe I'll have time to do that tommorow, but I doubt it. Probably have to do it Sunday afternoon. Anyway, this sheet metal I got is very nice. It is pretty thick so I think I'm going to wind up screwing it right down the the metal without using any kind of wood underneath it.

I also took down the Christmas tree today and put all the christmas stuff back up in the attic. I also removed quite a few things from the computer room. Some went to the garbage and others went to the attic. I'm still not done. That computer room is going to get quite a cleaning over the next few days. I think we're going to throw out the old cat-house that is in the corner too.
